This marks a new exploration of the textile and garment industry in central China, following the success of the Intertextile Fabrics Expo in Shanghai and the Greater Bay Area. It also signifies Wuhan's determination to reshape its fashion industry by focusing on industrial roots and collaborating with flagship exhibitions to create a new industrial pattern.
On the opening day, the event welcomed prominent leaders such as Xu Yingxin, Vice President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council and President of the Sub-Council of Textile Industry under the CCPIT, along with Liang Pengcheng, Executive Vice President, Yan Yan, Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the China Textile Information Center, and other key representatives from industry associations and local government.
Jointly organized by the Sub-Council of Textile Industry under the CCPIT, the China Textile Information Center, Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd., Wuhan International Expo Group Co., Ltd., and the Hubei Clothing Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the Wuhan Fashion Week Organizing Committee, this expo aims to establish a robust exchange and cooperation platform for the textile and apparel industries in central China. It focuses on industry service, market expansion, and enterprise support to promote deepened development and the transition from traditional to intelligent manufacturing. The event seeks to align supply with demand, stimulate industry transformation, and cultivate new growth drivers, injecting fresh momentum into the sector.
The expo features 122 high-quality exhibitors from regions including China, Japan, the UK, Italy, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, presenting a wide array of premium fabrics and accessories. These products span applications in womenswear, casualwear, lingerie and swimwear, outdoor sportswear, and formalwear, highlighting innovations in synthetic fibers, knits, cottons, lace, embroidery, digital printing, functional textiles, and more.
For instance, the Jiangsu Shengze delegation showcases cutting-edge synthetic and silk-like fabrics, representing China’s industrial cluster advantages. Other standout exhibits include Ningbo Textile’s eco-functional corduroy, Huiye Textile’s graphene-enhanced fabrics, Consinee’s luxury cashmere blends, and innovative biodegradable materials. These offerings reflect a strong alignment with market demands in central China, showcasing advanced functionality such as antibacterial, moisture-wicking, anti-static, and UV-resistant properties.
Hubei Province boasts a rich history and strong foundation in the textile and garment industry, with renowned clusters like Han-style womenswear and Huangshi men’s leisurewear. Wuhan serves as a vital distribution hub, creative base, and consumer destination for the fashion industry in central China.
Leveraging its geographical and industrial advantages, the expo attracted professional buyers, designers, e-commerce innovators, and brand representatives from six neighboring provinces. Renowned brands like Anta, Decathlon, and JNBY also attended to source premium materials.
The expo employed targeted outreach through buyer databases, media campaigns, and social marketing. Activities like business matchmaking and guided buyer tours ensured concrete trade outcomes, with numerous professional market delegations and enterprises attending on the first day.
The opening day featured the “Sustainable Development Forum and Industry Matchmaking,” hosted by the Wuhan Economic and Information Bureau. Government officials, industry leaders, and scholars discussed strategies for industrial transformation and sustainability, emphasizing the role of innovation in reshaping Wuhan’s textile landscape.
In addition, forums on smart fibers, intelligent garment manufacturing, and fashion-tech integration explored the convergence of technology and fashion, fostering insights for the industry’s future.
Held concurrently with the Wuhan International Intelligent Sewing Equipment Exhibition, the event created synergies between materials and technology, enabling buyers to discover both cutting-edge textiles and advanced manufacturing solutions.
